Beta: Beat of the Future

Beta: Beat of the Future

If we allow the past to teach us anything, we will know that those who
practiced courageous roles as young adults in their communities somehow are
destined to govern our states and nations. The future of our country is in
the hands of teens like myself, many of whom enjoy time committed to Beta
club functions. The future of our great nation, and even the world for
that matter, looks quite bright if in fact members of our Beta clubs are
destined to solve our dilemmas and to arbitrate our differences. It is my
firm belief that those of us who have seen the many problems of our society
and who have dealt with these are confidently prepared for the
responsibility of leading in the years to come. We teens have helped the
less fortunate, comforted the sick, and given to countless charities. Thus
we have seen the complications of adult life and have, most importantly,
already made a contribution to society. But how will we future leaders
affect American livelihoods? What applications of daily life will benefit
from our experiences? Answering this question is the ambition of my essay.
I believe that not only government, but also businesses and families will
inherit the work of Beta Clubs in the years ahead. While it is conceivable
that nearly every walk of life could encompass the Beta Club philosophy in
some way, it is my opinion that the aforesaid topics may be the clearest
examples of the tremendous role this club can play in the future.
The possibility, or even probability, of Beta playing a role in the future
of our government is rather likely. I will venture to say that those
individuals who take a role of leadership in school activities will attempt
to take such a role in "the real world". Further supporting this belief is
the fact that our current president, Bill Clinton, was once a Beta himself.
Beta members across the nation have many hopes and dreams. Undoubtedly,
many of these dreams involve politics. By facing and interacting with the
problems politicians must combat each day, we young adults are gaining much
needed experience. By holding an office in the Beta Club at school,
students can understand the necessities of leadership. It is evident to me
that our club should not only be credited with helping other members of the
community, but also with better preparing the next generation of leaders.
The future of our nation lies in the hands of Beta members.
Americans, seemingly by design, are engrossed in business. Perhaps it is
our quest for "the American Dream" that drives us to work tirelessly day
after day. Little do young Beta members know that the many hours of humble
service they provide are giving them much of the training they need to be
productive as employees or employers. Although making posters and selling
gifts aren't equated as career training, they help teach us the importance
of hard work and dedication toward a goal. Everyone knows that these two
factors along with the education almost all Beta members will someday
achieve are more than enough to produce excellent businessmen and women.
Will the economy flourish during my generation? With one of the Beta
Club's greatest lessons, teamwork, we can almost be certain that America's
commercial affairs will prosper. Yet for some of our fellow friends and
students, having a well-paying job isn't enough. There is no doubt that
many "Betas" will tackle the endeavor of maintaining a small business, and
many will succeed. Although independent in their ways, these individuals
will use their knowledge of the effects of diligence and teamwork to make a
difference in our world for the twenty-first century. Beta, once again,
has found itself at the heart of the future of our world.
Finally, I can't leave to mention the effect on family Beta can sustain.
All too common in the U.S. is the existence of single-parent households.
These situations are not as destructive as once thought, but still prove to
be setbacks for many children. During my time spent in the Beta Club, I
have learned, among many other things, that devotion is the key in reaching
an objective. I feel certain that in growing up and having a family of my
own I shall put this belief to the test in many ways. My discussion of
this particular case is quite different from the others I have presented.
There are no college courses on maintaining a family; it's really a
learn-as-you-go undertaking. I can already see some of the many pressures
that arise as I grow older, such as parenting. It is my hope that I will
be able to use the principles of persistence and caring that I have derived
from my time in Beta. As we teens are beginning to feel the end of our
lives as children, we can only wait to see if our parents and teachers have
prepared us for the road ahead. Beta members should consider themselves
prepared, for they enjoy the honor of having helped others in need, for
having learned about leadership and cooperation, and most of all for having
realized that we are not alone in our problems; together, we can work
towards a promising future for ourselves. All these things, and many more
I can suppose, are necessities for a working family. These things any Beta
Club will readily supply.
In closing, I reiterate the point that the future of our world is not near
as grim as some suggest with Beta members at the helm. The knowledge of
Betas is especially important in the leadership roles of our countries, the
eminent profession of business, and the everyday struggle of family life.
With so many challenges ahead, the voyage of life can best be traveled with
the confidence of Beta experience. Yes - it is certain! Beta is the beat
of the future.
